A quiet check, just for you

Tick any that sound like your house lately

None of these proves anything on its own. Teenagers change, and a lot of this is normal. But when several show up together, it is worth paying attention. Nobody sees your answers.

Tick any that apply, and you will see what it means here.
You are not imagining it

And you are not the only mother in the dark

Researchers surveyed 860 secondary school students in Ogbomoso. Ordinary in-school teenagers, in ordinary Nigerian homes, most of them close to their mothers. This is what they found:

52%
already had a boyfriend or girlfriend
64%
of their parents never knew what was happening
18%
saw their partner when sent on errands. Others during school hours, by sneaking out, or by lying about where they were.

Their parents were not careless. Researchers in Ibadan found the same pattern: when parents frown on relationships, teenagers don't stop. They hide.

The question is not whether your daughter will one day like someone. It is whether you hear it from her, or from someone else.

Wherever you are right now

There is a first step for you tonight

"I only suspect."

You haven't found anything. You just feel the distance. This is the best moment, because there is nothing to repair yet. The guide shows you how to open the topic gently without accusing her, and how to set the rules together before you ever need them.

Open the door before there's anything to hide →

"I already found out."

From the school gate, her phone, a sibling. Maybe you shouted. Maybe you took the phone, and now the house is too quiet. The 15-minute Repair Script on page 2 was written for exactly tonight.

Read this first ↓
If you already found out

You found out from someone else.

Maybe another mother at the school gate, smiling a little too long before she said it. Maybe a message on her phone at midnight. Maybe her younger brother, over dinner.

Heat rising in your chest. Your hands not knowing what to do. My own daughter. A boyfriend. And I am the last person to know?

So you did what most of us were raised to do. You raised your voice. Maybe you took the phone. Maybe you called her father. And now she says "yes ma" and walks straight to her room. The house is quiet. Too quiet.

And under the anger is a fear you have not said to anybody:

You are scared you are losing your child.

You are not a bad mother. You are a frightened one, using the only tools you were handed. But here is the part nobody tells us at the school gate:

A girl who is scared of your reaction does not stop. She just stops telling you. And the next time something happens, good or bad, you will hear it from the gate again. Or worse, from the hospital, the school, or a stranger.
Before we go any further

6 things Nigerian mothers were raised to believe that are quietly pushing your daughter away

None of this is your fault. Your mother believed it. Her mother believed it. But look at what each one is actually costing you.

You were told"If I am gentle with her, she will go wild."
The truthGentle is not weak. Your rules stay. Only the method changes. In this guide the rules are written down and signed by both of you, so there is nothing to "go wild" with.
You were told"Fear keeps girls safe."
The truthFear keeps girls quiet. And a quiet girl cannot tell you when something is truly wrong, including when it is not a boyfriend but danger.
You were told"Checking her phone in secret is how I protect her."
The truthGirls are rarely fooled for long. What they learn is not "Mummy is protecting me." It is "I need a second account." You find nothing, and you are more scared than before.
You were told"A good mother never apologises to her child."
The truthYou are not apologising for caring. You are apologising for how it came out. That one honest sentence is often what makes the door open again. It does not cost you authority. It buys you her ear.
You were told"Not my daughter. She is not that kind of girl."
The truthGood girls like boys too. In the Ogbomoso study, 64% of parents never knew what was happening. Often the good daughter hides hardest, because she is scared of disappointing you. Not knowing is not the same as nothing happening.
You were told"It is too late. She already hates me."
The truthThe Repair Script on page 2 was written for exactly this moment: after the shouting, after the phone, after the door slammed. Most mothers wait too long because they think the damage is permanent. It usually is not.

Let me tell you about a mother I'll call Ngozi.

Ngozi is not one real woman. She is an illustration, built from what so many Nigerian mothers describe. If parts of her story feel like yours, that is why I am telling it.

Ngozi is 43 and works at a ministry in Ikeja. Her eldest, Chioma, is 15 and in SS2. Chioma was always the one who told her everything, sitting in the kitchen while Ngozi cooked.

Then one Friday at the school gate, another mother leaned in: "Mummy Chioma... you know your daughter and that boy in SS3 are close now, abi?" Ngozi smiled like she knew. She didn't.

That night she did what her own mother would have done. She shouted until her voice cracked. She seized the phone. She called Chioma's father, who was travelling. He was angrier than she was: "You are the mother. Where were you?"

Chioma said sorry and went to her room. From that night, the girl who used to sit in the kitchen was gone. "Yes ma." "No ma." "I'm fine." Door closed.

What Ngozi tried, and what happened:

Kept the phone. Chioma borrowed a friend's phone and opened a new account.
Sent the church youth pastor. Chioma felt exposed in front of people she respected, and shut down more.
Checked her messages quietly. Found nothing, which scared her more. Chioma had simply got better at hiding.
Banned all outings. "Group study." "A friend's birthday."
Every method had the same result. Chioma didn't stop. She just hid better.

One Sunday, Ngozi's older cousin, a retired teacher who had raised four girls, asked what was wrong. Ngozi told her everything. The cousin listened, then said:

"You can't guide a child who is hiding from you. Before you fix the boy, you have to fix the door. Right now, your door is shut."

Ngozi was offended at first. So it's my fault? But her cousin wasn't blaming her. She was saying something simpler: shouting teaches a teenage girl one lesson. Telling Mummy the truth is dangerous.

What she suggested sounded almost too simple. Don't start with the boy. Apologise, not for caring, but for how it came out. Rebuild ordinary closeness. Then listen. Then share your values with reasons, not threats. Then set the rules together. "Your rules stay," she said. "Your method changes."

Free preview · What Ngozi said at Chioma's door that night

"I want to say something, and you don't have to answer. When I found out, I reacted from fear, and I said things in a way I'm not proud of. I'm sorry for how I said it. I'm still your mother and I still have rules. But I want to hear your side, whenever you're ready."

That is one paragraph of the 15-minute Repair Script. The full script, and exactly what to do on each day after it, starts on page 2 of the guide.

Chioma said nothing. The next day, nothing. The day after, nothing. See? It doesn't work. But Ngozi kept going. She greeted her warmly. Cooked her favourite food. Asked about school without mentioning the boy once. On the third evening, she asked Chioma to help her pick beans, side by side. And somewhere between the beans and the stones, Chioma said, very quietly:

"Mummy... are you still angry with me?"

Two days later, they had the real conversation. Ngozi asked about the boy, and for the first time she listened to the end without interrupting. She learned things she would never have found out by shouting. They agreed the rules together, and Chioma signed the paper with her mother.

A few weeks later, close to 10pm, there was a knock on Ngozi's door.

"Mummy... can I tell you something?"

That knock is the whole point of this page. Not a perfect daughter. Not a mother who never gets angry. Just a door that opens again, so the next time something happens in her life, you hear it from her first.

The method behind the guide

Why shouting fails, and what the Open Door Method does instead

Every step Ngozi took came from love. But together they make a loop, and most Nigerian homes fall into it without noticing:

Discover→Explode→Punish→Silence→Spy→She hides better→You find out later

The Open Door Method breaks the loop at the explosion. It changes the order:

1

Repair

A short apology for how it came out, not for caring.
2

Listen

One real conversation where you listen more than you talk.
3

Share your values

With reasons, not threats.
4

Set the rules together

Written down and signed by both of you.

It does not ask you to approve of boyfriends, or drop your faith, or drop your family's rules. Your rules stay. Your method changes. That order is what keeps a teenage girl close enough to guide.

What the research says
In a study of in-school teenagers in Ibadan, when parents were suspicious about dating, most teenagers distorted what they told them.
In a survey of 1,200 in-school adolescents in Ibadan, those who felt high family connectedness (love and support from home) were significantly less likely to be involved in risky sexual behaviour, even when they were dating.
The same researchers note that parental disapproval makes teens likely to hide relationships, and that caring, supportive parents can delay when teens start them.

What your next 7 days look like

About 20 minutes a day. From a closed door to an open one.

You are not signing up for a course. You are following a simple map, one small step each day, with the words already written.

D1

Day 1

Say the Repair Script. Even if she says nothing. Especially if she says nothing.
D2–3

Days 2 and 3

Rebuild ordinary closeness. Warm greetings, her favourite food, no mention of the boy.
D4–5

Days 4 and 5

The first real conversation. You listen to the end, with opening lines for silence, tears or anger.
D6

Day 6

Share your values with reasons, not threats, using the "Don't Say This, Say This" sheet.
D7

Day 7

Set the family rules together and sign the agreement. Your rules, her voice, in writing.
Which one sounds like you?

Three mothers, three starting points

These are illustrations, not real customers. Like Ngozi, each one is built from situations Nigerian mothers describe, to show how the method fits where you are.
Illustration

The mother who only suspects

Abuja · daughter, 14

Her daughter's phone started living face-down, and "lesson" now runs late on Thursdays. She has found nothing, and she is scared of accusing her and being wrong. With the guide she skips the apology and starts with closeness and one gentle conversation. The family rules get signed before anything happens.

Illustration

The mother who already shouted

Port Harcourt · daughter, 16

She saw a message at midnight, seized the phone and said things she regrets. Two weeks of "yes ma" later, she starts on Day 1 with the Repair Script, and expects silence for a few days. That silence is part of the plan, not a sign it has failed.

Illustration

The mother abroad, with a husband against it

London · daughter, 15

Her daughter's friends date openly. At home, her father says one word: "No." She hands him Bonus 1 first, so they agree on the plan in the bedroom before either of them speaks to their daughter in the parlour.

Read the guide and use it for 7 days. If you do not feel it gave you better words and a better plan for talking to your daughter, send us a message within 14 days of buying and we will refund you in full. No long story, no questions, no hard feelings.

And you keep everything, every guide and every bonus, even if you ask for the refund. The only way you can lose is by closing this page and doing nothing.

Before you say "but..."

The 5 thoughts running through your head right now

I know, because every mother has them. Let's deal with them honestly.

"What if I'm wrong, and she isn't hiding anything?"

Then you have lost nothing, and you are ahead. Nothing in the guide accuses her. The first days are just warmth and ordinary closeness, and the rules get set before you ever need them. It is far easier to open the door early than to force it open after the gate, the phone, or the hospital.

"₦7,200 is a lot right now."

It is under ₦1,030 a day for 7 days, and it comes with a full refund if it does not help you. Now compare it to the cost of the other path: months of silence, a daughter hiding her life from you, and finding out the next thing from someone else. That price is not paid in naira.

"I'm not good with words."

You do not need to be. The words are written out. You read them, change them to sound like you, and say them. Many mothers have never been taught how to apologise to a child, so the guide shows you line by line.

"I don't have time."

It is about 20 minutes a day, for 7 days, on your phone. If you have time to be afraid at night, you have time for the Repair Script. It takes 15 minutes.

"What if I wait and see?"

Every week of silence is a week your daughter gets better at hiding. The best time to open the door is before the next thing happens, not after.

More questions mothers ask

Is this telling me to allow my daughter to have a boyfriend?
No. Your values and your rules stay yours. The guide changes how you talk to her, so she stays close enough to guide instead of hiding from you.
My daughter already hates me after what I said. Is it too late?
Start with the Repair Script on page 2. It is written for exactly this moment, after the shouting.
I only suspect. I haven't found out anything yet. Is this for me?
Yes, and this is the best time to start. You skip the apology and go straight to rebuilding closeness and the first real conversation (page 10), which shows you how to open the topic without accusing her. You set the rules together before anything happens. Bonus 2 gets you ahead with a younger sister, and Bonus 3 is for the day you do find out.
My husband won't agree with a soft approach.
That is why Bonus 1 exists. It is written for him, in a father's voice: protector, not prosecutor. If he is not around, you can skip it. Nothing else in the guide depends on it.
Does this fit my faith and my family's values?
It does not ask you to drop either. Your values stay. You share them with reasons instead of threats, then set the rules together.
I live in the UK, US or Canada. Is this for me?
Yes. Mothers abroad often feel this even more: her friends at school date openly, while your home still runs on Nigerian values. You can buy from anywhere, Selar accepts international cards, and the guides download instantly.
What if the "boyfriend" is an adult or someone with authority over her?
Then it is not a relationship. The safety check on page 16 explains the warning signs and what to do next, including who to report to.
What age is this for, and how long is it?
It is written for mothers of teenage girls. The main guide is 26 pages, easy to read on your phone, with the exact words written out. Bonus 2 is for a younger sister aged 10 to 13.
Is this counselling?
No. It is practical family guidance. If your daughter is in danger, very low, or may be hurting herself, please speak to a doctor, school counsellor or trusted professional.
How do I get it after I pay?
You pay on our secure Selar checkout by card, bank transfer or USSD. Your download link appears on screen and arrives in your email straight away. Need help? WhatsApp 09034811384 or email womenwellnessinitiative1@gmail.com.

Who this is for, and who it is not for

This is for you if

You love your daughter and are tired of the shouting and the silence. You want to guide her, not just control her. You are ready to apologise for how it came out, and to keep your rules while changing your method.

This is not for you if

You want a trick to spy on her better, or a way to win an argument. It will not make her perfect or stop her from ever making a mistake. It gives you the words and the plan. You still have to say them.

So you have two choices right now.

Option 1
Take action. Get the whole Open Door Package for ₦7,200, say the Repair Script tonight, and start rebuilding the door between you and your daughter. And if it does not help, you get your money back.
Option 2
Close this page and keep doing what has not worked: the shouting, the silence, the phone-checking, and the fear of finding out the next thing from someone else.

Somewhere in your house right now, there is a girl who wants to tell her mother something. Make sure that door is open when she does.

Yes, I Want to Be the First to Know
Whole package · ₦7,200 · Instant download · 14-day refund promise

P.S. Whether you only suspect or you already know, you do not have to fix everything this week. You only have to take the first small step tonight, and the words are already written for you. It takes about 15 minutes.

P.P.S. You risk nothing. If the guide does not give you better words and a better plan, ask for your refund within 14 days and keep every guide anyway. The only real risk is waiting, and letting her get better at hiding.
